Future Plans
1. A free diagnostic centre for the poor
Private medical care is often too expensive for the poor, and at government hospitals quality care is just not available. Patients are forced to stay for extended periods of time (resulting in relatives having to spend extra money on accommodation, while they wait), are given no clear explanations as to what their illnesses are about, and are sent off with medication they don’t know the purpose of.
To solve this problem, we want to start a free diagnostic centre for the poor. Here they would have access to the latest equipment and specialists who can provide simple explanations of their illnesses and the medicines they need to take. It would save time, money, and a lot of heartache.
Everyone should have access to good medical care, and this project would be a start to making this possible.
2. A community service centre and village adoption
We hope to start a community service centre on the outskirts of Chennai, with the basic facilities needed to accommodate our core staff. We could then ‘adopt’ the surrounding community, helping them with needs like health, hygiene, child education, occupation, etc. After they have developed sufficiently, we could then move on to a neighboring community in need of help.
3. Cancer awareness programmes in rural areas
Cancer is a disease which can be cured when detected at the early stage. With this in mind, we conduct cancer screening camps in rural areas with the help of Cancer Institute, Adyar. We hope to scale up operations in future.
4. Job opportunities for the physically challenged people
One of our other goals is to create more job opportunities for the physically challenged, much like the soda manufacturing unit we established in Tuticorin
